Step-by-step guide
How to use Dropdesk
Dropdesk moves pictures and short notes from your phone to your computer. No account needed. Follow these steps in order.
On your computer (do this first)
- Go to dropdeskapp.com Open this website on your laptop or desktop in Chrome.
- Tap Install extension Click the big Install extension button. Chrome opens the Dropdesk page.
- Add to Chrome Click Add to Chrome, then Add extension.
- Open Dropdesk Click the puzzle piece near the address bar, then click Dropdesk. A side panel opens with a code for your phone.
On your phone
- Get the Dropdesk app Download from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android).
- Connect to your computer Tap Scan QR and point your camera at the square on your computer screen. Or tap Enter code and type the 6 numbers shown in Chrome.
- Send a photo or note Tap the + button to pick a photo, send copied text, or use Share from another app and choose Dropdesk.
On your computer again
- See your file in the side panel Photos and notes appear in Dropdesk within a few seconds.
- Drag or copy Drag photos into upload boxes on websites. For notes, tap Copy and paste anywhere you need.
Good to know
- Scan QR only works when Dropdesk is open on your computer with a live code.
- Tap Preview workspace in the app to look around without connecting.
- Files delete themselves after a short time to keep things tidy.
